2010 - Metropolitan Wasteland and a Happy New Year to all

Happy New Year, 2010 has finally arrived... definitely time to add some more recent work to my blog.

This piece revisits a favourite topic of mine, architecture, drawn with my dip pen in black ink, and painted in watercolour and acrylic.

Happy New Year to all...

Happy new year to you too! This is fantastic. So much detail. Is this more or less your own idea? You could work as a film set designer. I though of City of Ember when I saw this. I’m sure you’d like it if you haven’t seen it yet.

Hi Ben, Thanks for stopping by! Im pleased you like it. Yes this is my own concept, some architectural elements are based on real world observations (the tall buildings over lower level streets) but the fusion of machine and cityscape with other oddities is generated from my own head without reference, although I’m sure a fair few sci fi flicks have this in abundance!
I have done a little concept art in my time, but I’d love to do more. I haven’t heard of that film, but Ill look into it, thanks for the reference.
Thanks again, hope all is well with you.
