The Three Bears

An illustration of an old classic, Goldilocks and the three bears. This was done a little while ago, but I thought the blog could use an injection of coloured work, so here it is. Having spent the last couple of weekends walking in Sherwood Forest this seemed fairly apt, although I didn't see any bears, I didn't even see Robin Hood and his Merry Men, haha.

Goldilocks has spied the inviting bears house with open door, while the bears are on their way home through the woods. This is pen and ink and watercolour.

Really nice mix of two images. I like the attention to detail on the middle bear — holding flowers (?). Your eye runs through the image quite easily too

Hey Nick

Just checking in with you, after clicking through from Cat and Ced's blog. Nice to be able to look through so much great new work x

Thanks Ben,

I was trying to add some identifying characteristics of the three bears without giving the somewhat naff looking hat or tie (they are bears afterall) So I gave the middle bear some berries, although they could have been flowers.
